I like crochet and I cannot lie. You other ladies can't deny!
Hi! I'm Kristin
I'm a minister's wife, artist, crafter, crazy crocheter, opera singer and mother of three feline fur babies.
I met my husband in the spring of 2006 at a wedding. We were wedding crashers. Can you believe that? I knew the couple but wasn't formally invited, but my husband didn't know them at all!
We got engaged in 2007 and married in 2008 and I couldn't ask for a better life.
In 2010 my husband came to me and said "Babe we need to talk. I feel God calling me into the ministry." I wasn't really surprised. His grandfather and father were both ministers and he'd been running from God his whole life.
Initially my reaction was "Uh oh. What have we gotten into?" But God worked on my heart very quickly and I came to accept my new role in life. (My sister was supposed to be the minister's wife not me. I was the free spirited artist!)
So here we are today. My husband graduated from seminary in May 2015. He has been appointed to a United Methodist Church in Southwest Virginia!
As for my crochet, I learned how to chain and single crochet when I was about 7 or 8. My Aunt Joann taught me, but I didn't continue to learn anymore about it as a child.
During college, I was in the Opera Theater department and during tech week I saw someone crocheting during our down time. (Ugh... tech week.) I remembered doing it as a child and picked it back up pretty quickly. I made my first scarf that week and I haven't put a hook down since.
