Seven Gratitudes - Week 3

I have had a busy week and almost forgot to write this post! This week I’m grateful for…

1. Jonny Lang and his epic guitar playing skills – We made a quick trip down to Knoxville to go to an awesome concert! We’ve seen Jonny and band a few times now and this was by far the best performance we’ve seen. We had great seats and the best time! #bluesguitar #amazeballs

2. VCA Highlands Animal Hospital – Mr. Murtaugh was having some super stinky breath lately and I took him in to get his teeth cleaned. Poor little guy ended up getting 12 teeth pulled! Apparently, his immune system is attacking his gums and causing his teeth to loosen. He was pretty pitiful there for a few days, but he’s all better now and on some immune supplements. #poorsmoosh

3. Mr. Zetty and his epic construction knowledge – A parishioner from church has been coming by to repair somethings in the parsonage. I’m very grateful to be able to live in a beautiful home and have people that are willing to fix things when they get broken/stop working. #manymanythanks #ihaveagarbagedisposalnow

4. Phillips Hue Lights – Speaking on parsonage upgrades, have you ever tried Phillips Hue Lights? We just got a couple and they are amazing! My sleep cycle alarm works with the bulbs to help wake me up gently in the mornings! It’s also super awesome to be able to say “Hey, Siri! Turn off the bedroom lights!” #sirihascontrol #nolongerjoltedawakebythealarm

5. Girl Scout Cookies and the BA girls that sell them – Timothy came home from Convocation last week with a bag full of GS Cookies! #tagalaongsaremyfavorite #gained5pounds I also came across this little gem of a video and just had to share with you guys! #staywoke #buysomecookies

6. Sunshine and Snow – I’ve decided March is coming in like a lion! It’s sunny/60 one day and 22/snowing the next. Not gonna lie, I wish we’d gotten more snow this winter so I’m happy to see the snow coming down again.

7. International Women’s Day – In honor of the IWD, I’m grateful for all the amazing women in my life. #mom #mil #sis #sils #bosslady #gmasinheaven #nieces #cousins #friends #bff

Seven Gratitudes - Week 2

Happy Friday! I've had a great week and here's what I'm thankful for!

1. For the awesome woman that purchase a headband earwarmer on Etsy! Woot! I got an Etsy sale this week! #omg #boostedmyconfidence #ireallyneededthat

2. Timothy is back after Convocation - After spending a whole week apart, I was super excited to have Timothy back home. For date night we went to the Met Live's simulcast of Puccini's La Boheme. #sogood #cantgetenoughoperainmylife

3. Lenten Calendar - The United Methodist Higher Education Foundation sent us another Lenten calendar for 2018. I said it last year and I'll say it again. I'm so thankful for this piece of paper. Everyday while I working, I can take a minute to look up and quickly reflect on the day's task.

4. Chinese Food and Fortune Cookies - I didn't grow up liking Chinese food, but I love it now! Last time we had Chinese food, I got some excellent fortunes and I read them everyday willing them to come true. I love these daily reminders that good things are coming. #gimmeallthegeneraltsoandporkdumplings

5. Spring cleaning and decluttering - I mentioned last week that I am in a book club and our first book was The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo. It renewed my desire to live a clutter free minimalist lifestyle. I've been getting rid of clothes, shoes, old beauty stuff, books, DVDs, etc. over the past week. I still have a long way to go but I'm looking forward to getting more accomplished in this area! #resisthoarding #letitgo

6. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - During my spring cleaning and decluttering, I started getting clothes and shoes ready to send to Thredup. I came across a beloved pair of jeans from college that haven't fit for some time. I never thought I'd ever wear them again, because they are super low rise. (Ladies, why in the world did we ever wear these?). #whaletale #plumberscrack

I've been hanging on to these for some stupid reasons. Maybe they'll fit again! Maybe they will come back in style! Maybe I'll do something else with the denim! Well, I finally got around to trying them on again. Guess what! They did fit but they were not flattering. #highwaistedjeansforthewin

So I decided to make an awesome skirt! Isn't cute?!? #totescute I used this for inspiration and this tutorial to help me doing the cutting and sewing!

7. Bullet journaling - In an effort to be more organized and stop having checklist papers everywhere, I started Bullet journaling. I'm still getting the hang of it, but I really like being able to have all my thoughts, notes, checklists and ideas in one place! #artistbrain #alsohelpskeeptheclutteratbay
